Arrest warrant issued against former DUCSU VP Nur

*The Chattogram Cyber Tribunal today issued an arrest warrant against former DUCSU Vice President Nurul Haque Nur in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.* Nur was accused of making derogatory comments about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury as well as Chhatra League and Jubo League. Advocate Shahriar Yasir Arafat Tanim, a former leader of Chattogram university BCL, filed the case in June 2022. Nur had called members of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the ruling government’s student outfit, thugs, Advocate Shahriar alleged. After the hearing, the Chattogram Cyber Tribunal ordered the CID to investigate the matter on 14 June 2022. CID submitted charge sheet on 6 February this year, and on Monday Judge Md Zahirul Kabir issued the arrest warrant against Nur based on the charge sheet.
